6. Consensus Triangle and Coniunctivus Triangle

The square we can also use to symbolically show two general areas that our psyche is divided into. That is, CONSCIOUS and UNCONSCIOUS.

Personally, I like to call Unconscious – Complementarity. Complementarity is “a relation between two opposite states or principles that together exhaust the possibilities”, (definition by—WordNet Search – 3.1).

The areas of Consciousness and Unconsciousness I created on the square in such a way that I divided the square in half along the diagonal. This is the diagonal that connects the vertices of the square, where there are Power and Vulnerable State. In this way, we get two isosceles right triangles.

One of these triangles will be a symbol of Consciousness. That is, it will be the area of our psyche where our Consciousness has a major impact.

The second triangle will be a symbol of our Unconsciousness (or Complementarity). That is, it will be the area of our psyche where our Unconsciousness has a major impact.

The vertices of the Conscious Triangle mark the points where they are:

  • point—“Conscious State”,
  • and two opposite points—“Strong or Soft Self-Esteem State” (or “Power or Vulnerable State”).

The vertices of the Unconscious Triangle (or Complementary Triangle) mark the points where they are:

  • point—“Unconscious State”,
  • and two opposite points—“Strong or Soft Self-Esteem State” (or “Power or Vulnerable State”).

An example of a square which contains Conscious and Complimentary Triangle shows the diagram below.

The location of the above square together with the triangles in it corresponds to the type—Moist Air.

For other types of characters, the analogical square with its triangles will be turned at a different angle for each type of the Mandala of Character.

Psychic energy can move along the sides of Conscious and Unconscious Triangles. And this energy can move in both directions. To symbolically represent it, I used the arrows. Please look at the diagram below.

So, I placed two arrows on each side of Conscious and Unconscious Triangles. The arrows are pointing in opposite directions to show that psychic energy can move in two directions.

In a sense, we can say that these parallel double arrows, facing in opposite directions, symbolize two-way roads. Because we can move on two-way roads in two opposite directions.
