Creation history
12. – Summary
And that is how I created the main elements of the Mandala of Characters. My further work on the Mandala focused on its refining and confirming whether the particular elements are actually in the right places. Besides, new items were added to the Mandala. This process of completing, refining, and dispelling various doubts is still ongoing. And I continuously develop the creation named by me the “Mandala of Characters.
I did not develop this theory systematically. I had many gaps in my work on it. Among others, it was because I was doubting whether it has any sense to create a new system describing human characters? And, when I was thinking that it is a sense to do it, I was doubting whether I am the right person for creating this as a self-taught person? Other reasons were connected with more prosaic things, such us
- lack of time,
- keeping a focus on my paid work, - and in general, dealing with more beneficial activities. More beneficial by typical common sense and typical logical thinking.
However, despite many doubts which I had, new thoughts about the Mandala of Characters constantly were coming to my mind. Besides, the various articles that I that I had read, or films and documentaries I watched were giving me further associations about it. All in all, the development of the Mandala was still progressing.
It is also important that I constantly communicate (as any of us) with various people. So as a person interested in personalities, from time to time, I automatically began to think, what type of character can someone belong to? In a sense, we can say that there is a lot of data for personality research. And this data is available everywhere where we can meet people. To collect this data we need only watch people’s behavior. Therefore, for this reason, it was difficult for me not to continue the research which was in progress. Of course, I never really thought about the people who were around me only as research data. Anyway, it was not my main motivation to get to know their personality. Generally speaking, I was interested, intrigued, fascinated, thought-provoked, etc. Therefore, my work slowly was moving forward, despite doubts coming from common-sense, and from possible lack of sense and meaning of creating the Mandala of Characters.
So, in general, what I read, what I watched, and the people I have met were bringing to my mind further associations about the Mandala of Characters. Thanks to this, my interest in this subject was constantly waking up again and again. And my considerations about it still continued.
In the meantime, I also created a general scheme of the Mandala of Characters. The general scheme does not include all the elements that were described in the above chapters. Simply, it is difficult to fit all elements into one scheme. Besides, it is not always a good idea to put everything that is possible on one scheme. It is because it can often make it difficult to figure out what is where and what it is about? So, it can make it more complicated, instead of simplifying it. All in all, the Mandala of Characters was initially designed as in in the diagram below. It is original Polish version, before translation.
The above diagram is the general scheme of the Mandala of Characters. Inside we can find three squares. These squares are connected with the points were are placed types of characters. It means each of three squares is connected with four types. Three squares then together connect twelve types.
In addition, to the general scheme, there are also 12 separate mandala schemes for each type of character. For example, below I am giving an example of an initial diagram for the type Air.
Analogically as for the type Air, there are also separate mandalas for the remaining 11 types which I have distinguished in the Mandala of Characters.
The above schemes were further developed also from the graphical side. The result of this I present in the next diagram below.
I found the above scheme good enough for establishing it as the first official version of the Mandala of Characters. On this basis, I also created a logo of the Mandala of Characters.
The idea of using the word “version” came from marking in this way versions of software, computer programs and operating systems. These software, program or operating systems often develop, actualize, improve, modify, correct, patch, etc.
The Mandala of Characters is a theory, and theories often have this habit that they are changing over time, or they are improving, modifying, updating, developing, etc. There is a similarity between the development of software, programs or operating systems and the development of various theories. Therefore, the above system of mandalas is the “Mandala of Characters” marked as “version 1.0”. Also, we can say that it is the first “stable version”.
Of course, apart from the above general version, particular types also have their own separate mandalas. For example, below I present the Mandala of Characters for the type Moist Air.
Analogically to the above mandala for the type Moist Air, there are also mandalas for the other types of the Mandala of Characters. They will be presented and discussed in chapters in which I will describe particular types.
And this is the end of the description of the creation of the Mandala of Characters. This description is actually a brief story or summary of the following stages of my creation. It is because it was difficult to recreate the whole of my thoughts during the building of the Mandala of Characters. The Mandala of Characters was created about 7 years ago. It means, since the end of 2006 until now, that is, in September 2013. So, it would be difficult for me to quote all the thoughts and associations that I had during its construction. Anyway, it would be hard for me to remind them all. However, if we want to treat the Mandala of Characters more scientifically, it is necessary to describe the following stages of its formation. Also, it is important properly present the particular details and elements from which Mandala is built.
All in all, the above description I wrote for people who are just curious about how the Mandala of Characters was created. Also, I wrote it for people who would like to know more deeply the whole process of creating the Mandala. Or people who want to evaluate it and make their own assessment, make various analyzes, criticize it, do a research about it, etc.
Also, I made the decision that at last, I present the Mandala of Characters. So, from now it will not be kept only for myself. I think that the Mandala is already on the stage of development that it can be presented. And, so to speak, I can bring it out into the open, or bring it into the light of day.
